Terms of Use
Last updated: July 2026 · Beta version
Research Roadmap is currently in beta. Features, pricing, and these terms may change as the product develops. This document is a working draft and has not been reviewed by a lawyer — it should not be relied on as a final legal agreement, particularly once paid plans are introduced.
1. What this service is
Research Roadmap is an AI-assisted tool that guides researchers through a structured pipeline — literature review, gap analysis, problem statement, objectives, research questions, hypotheses, and a research proposal draft. It is a drafting aid, not a substitute for your own scholarly judgment, your institution's research standards, or your supervisor's guidance.
2. AI-generated content
Every piece of content this platform generates is produced by third-party AI models (currently Google Gemini and/or Anthropic Claude, depending on the stage). AI-generated text can be inaccurate, contain fabricated citations or claims, or misrepresent sources — you are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and validating every output before relying on it, especially before submitting any derived work for academic, institutional, or publication purposes. This is reflected in the watermark and disclaimer on every exported document, and is not optional guidance — it is the basis on which this service is provided.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide a real, working email address for verification purposes. Don't share your account, and don't use the service to generate content on behalf of someone else without their knowledge.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the research topics, edits, and selections you provide. By using the service, you grant us permission to process that content (including sending it to third-party AI providers as described above) solely to generate the outputs you request. We don't claim ownership of your research ideas or drafts, and we don't use your project content to train AI models.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use the service to generate content that is fraudulent, plagiarized and presented as entirely your own without disclosure where required, or that violates your institution's academic integrity policies. You are responsible for complying with your own institution's and publisher's rules on AI-assisted work.
6. Beta status and availability
As a beta product, the service may have bugs, downtime, or data loss. We recommend keeping your own copies of anything important (the PDF export exists for this reason). We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with limited notice during this phase.
7. Limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any academic, professional, or financial consequences arising from reliance on AI-generated content, including but not limited to inaccurate citations, fabricated claims, or content that does not meet your institution's standards.
8. Changes to these terms
We'll update this page as the product develops, particularly once paid plans launch. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
